As some of you know, I recently completed the first book in my novella series Mysticus. I’m currently waiting on my beta reader’s critiques, and from there I’ll be querying my chosen list of agents.
Sadly, I’m a very impatient person. It’s something I definitely have to work on, but still…
I NEED TO WRITE SOMETHING!
With my last book, I realized that I can finish quickly and without doubting myself if I outline the book first and then follow that outline one plot point or more a day. I’m going to do the same with my new book. The problem is, I need to decide which of the projects I have in mind that I want to commit myself to. Will you help me choose?
Here’s the list:
. Shattered Kingdom (Book 2 in the Mysticus series).
Pros: I’d be furthering the Mysticus series, and I already have a good idea of these characters and plot.
Cons: I’d like to take a break from writing Mysticus for a few weeks, and I need to focus on the final edits/publication of book one, anyway.
. My Edgar Allan Poe book.
Pros: I love the idea of this book (I’ll share more later), and I’m in love with the characters.
Cons: I’m not sure about the plotline or where it’ll go (or how to start the book), and it’s been frustrating me.
. The Nightlight Portal.
Pros: I started this book when I was younger, so I have an idea about the characters and plot. Plus, it has the potential for a long middle-grade series!
Cons: None that I can think of.
. Agent Kat.
Pros: This middle-grade book has the potential to be a long series, and it’s a fresh idea that I’m sure kids will love.
Cons: I don’t have a clue about the characters, and I’d basically be starting this idea and plot from scratch.
