Writing political pieces can be risky, because politics can easily offend people. I decided to upload a short report I had to do for school, and I hope that some of you can push aside any bias and truly consider what it says.

NOTE: I am from a conservative family, and I myself am conservative.

Persuasion Writing

Despite the criticism and harsh comments of the media in their mission to turn America against President Trump, there’s solid evidence of his hard work for our nation that’s made it greater and safer than it has been for a long time.

The Supreme Court has tallied 289 accomplishments in eighteen different categories, and Trump is continuing to pile on the numbers. For those who are ignorant of Trump’s dedication to our country, I’ll be covering just a few of these monumental achievements.

In the second quarter of 2018, economic growth was up 4.2%, and for the first time in over a decade, it’s expected to rise 3% over the next year.

The employment rate is also growing. Since the election, four million new jobs have been created, and since Trump took office nearly 3.5 million.

More Americans are employed now than ever before. The record job-growth streak has been surpassed during Trump’s time in office. For the first time ever, job-openings outnumber the number of people searching for jobs. Unemployment is at a fifty year low. Not only this, but worker-productivity is the highest it’s been in years.

In 2017, the average American’s income rose to $61,372, the highest it’s been since the recession. Paychecks rose by 3.3% between 2016 and 2017.

For the first time in history, the median income for Hispanic-Americans went above $50,000. Not only this, but there are most Hispanic home-owners than there have been for a decade.

As business has become a very important source of America’s free-market wealth, it’s vital that consumers and producers are confident and ready to take risks. According to Washington Examiner, small business optimism is at an all-time high.

Due to tax cuts, investment is growing more popular in America. Over $450 billion dollars have already been brought back into the US, $300 billion of this sum during the first quarter of 2018.

Some argue that Trump is ‘unfriendly,’ but why are they so busy judging the president by his public demeanor and ignoring his accomplishments? The media spends so much time focusing on the little things they can find to make Trump look bad that people don’t consider his efforts to ‘make America great again.’ If people took the time to find the facts themselves, they’d learn that Trump’s accomplishments have, according to the Supreme Court’s scoring, passed those of Ronald Reagan.

No, we did not elect Trump to be our friend or small-talker. He is the president of the United States of America, and what our nation needs is a leader who can prioritize. One who can keep track of money, and as a great businessman with an enterprise worth about $3.5 billion Trump is just that. He is strong-minded and confident, and he stops at nothing to keep the promises he made to us and make America secure and prosperous.

So why is it that the media is constantly at his throat? Do they feel threatened by him because he doesn’t let them tear him down? Is our society just that over-run by liberals?

President Trump is doing great things for our nation, and perhaps one-day people will see this themselves instead of listening to what others tell them. Perhaps.

  1. So, I hold conservative views but still think that Trump isn’t the best president although he is doing good things for the country. Could you name something Trump has done to have made the economy? You mentioned what has happened in 2018 and how jobs were created but did Trump pass any laws to affect this?

    1. There are lots of different things Trump’s done for the economy . If you did some research you might be surprised. When Trump passed the tax cut bill, my dad got a $2,000 bonus, as did all of the other employees at his work. My family now makes thousands more than before, just because of that bill. How about West VA? It was in a downward spiral economically, but because of deregulation of the mining industry they’re now one of the most propsperous (also a Trump initiative). I could go on and on. He definitely knows what he’s doing. Looking at government statistics can be helpful to you if you want to see how our economy has grown during Trump’s time in office, which is much more reliable than watching the news what with the biased media.

  2. I generally lean towards conservative, but I wasn’t sure what to think of Trump. I remember he said he was going to run America like a business, in which he’s succeeding. Just wondering though, what are your thoughts on the government shutdown? Thanks for writing this article and bringing Trump’s good side to light!

    1. I think sometimes things like that are necessary to get people’s attention. Border security is a serious issue that some people don’t even consider, and I think the shutdown was enough to enable even the most intransigent Americans to pick up their remotes and listen to what Trump had to say. He gave a persuasive speech and he explained the importance of border security. Since he had the spotlight to himself and everyone’s attention, I hope people actually listened. So all in all, I think it was necessary and also clever on Trump’s part.

      1. Me too. News channels twist things so much and give false interpretations so often it’s hard to tell what’s true and what isn’t. Hopefully people start to try and find the facts for themselves more. That’s what I’ve been trying to do recently so people can’t say that I get my views from my parents. I hate that.

  3. Finally! It seems as though aaaalll teenagers love to jump on the Trump-hating bandwagon for no reason other than it’s the cool thing to do. Once I heard a friend make a comment on a celebrity : “The only good thing about him is that he is against Trump”. She gets her news from feminist Instagram accounts.
